Bethesda Community Services Inc., as part of its mandate, provides specialized services and supports to children with special needs, their families, and agencies within the Niagara Region.

For children in the Niagara region under the age of 18, we offer the following:

Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services Ontario Autism Program Announcement

Today, the Honourable Ms. Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Children, Community and Social Services held a press conference to announce changes to Ontario Autism Program (OAP). The Ontario Government has shared some details of the announcement on the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services website. We will continue to share new information as it becomes available.

Autism Spectrum Disorder Respite Services
Offers a variety of respite services for children 2-1/2 years of age up to their 18th birthday, including After School Social Skills Groups, Pre-School Groups, Saturday Recreation Programs, seasonal camps, Flex Funds, and In-Home Respite Services. 

Children’s Developmental Assessment Services 

Offers multidisciplinary assessments for children for whom a special need or Autism Spectrum Disorder is diagnosed or is suspected.

Children’s Behaviour Support Services
Provides behavioural consultation, treatment and education for children who have special needs, their families and their support staff.

Hamilton-Niagara Regional Autism Program

The Hamilton-Niagara Regional Autism Program offers flexible, individualized and family-centred services based on a clinical assessment of the child's or youth's needs. This service will offer a variety of evidence-based behavioural services, family services and training
