We meet individuals "where they are at'" providing comprehensive quality services, advocacy and independence.
Since 1937, Bethesda has provided a wide range of support and services to individuals in Niagara, Hamilton, Brant, Haldimand, and Norfolk; and the First Nations communities of Six Nations and the Grand River and Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
Bethesda remains committed to supporting people with compassion, respect, and excellence.
Our emphasis focuses on a holistic approach that considers the whole person's physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
Adult Programs Offered by Bethesda
Clinical Services
Bethesda’s Adult Clinical Services provides comprehensive person-centred assessments, treatments, consults, and educational and training opportunities.
The multi-disciplinary team of Psychometrists, Occupational Therapists, Speech & Language Pathologists, Social Workers, and Behaviour Consultants work collaboratively with the individual and their support.
Community Response Program
In Hamilton, Niagara, Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk Regions, Bethesda’s Community Response Program offers support and intervention in partnership with our Regional Behaviour Providers by connecting with our Outreach Behaviour Resource Consultant.
Southern Network of Specialized Care
The Southern Network of Specialized Care (SNSC) is part of a provincial collaboration of the Community Networks of Specialized Care (CNSC).
It links specialized services and professionals to develop complex support plans for adults with developmental disabilities with high support and complex needs.
Chaplaincy & Bereavement Support Services
Bethesda's Chaplaincy program offers support to individuals throughout the Niagara and Hamilton areas to encourage and support each individual's faith or spiritual needs. *Hamilton services are faith focused.
Supported Living Programs
Bethesda offers a variety of supported living service options for adults with special needs, including group home living, intensive residential living arrangements, family home living, and respite.
Passport Program
Our dedicated Support Workers provide comprehensive assistance to adults with developmental disabilities at home and in the community. They facilitate engagement in recreational and social activities, empowering individuals to build meaningful connections and stay active.
Whether it's enhancing life skills, navigating work opportunities, or participating in enriching community events, our services are tailored to support individual goals and foster growth in a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Day Services, Recreation, and Leisure
Bethesda offers a variety of additional day supports, including daily activities, recreation and leisure.
The diversity and quality of Bethesda's programs encourage individuals in various enjoyable interests and pastimes designed to support physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual needs.
